It's been in the single digit weather here recently. The temperature went up during the day but went down again by night. Melted snow now turned into a very slick layer of ice. In some places the ice layer is as much as an inch or two thick. This means lots of back and hip sprain injuries, concussions, etc. at local ER and chiropractic clinics.
Save yourself the hassle. Get yourself a pair of traction cleats that you can slip on any shoes you wear and you can take them off when you have arrived at your destination. This has saved your mom and dad countless of times from falling on ice. Once you put them on, you can even run on ice confidently. But don't do it :).
