#45 Blowout

Bang!!  If one of your car's tires blow out while driving, your car might begin to vibrate, don't panic and don't hit the brakes, just get a good grip on the steering wheel and maintain a decent safe slowing down speed in the safe direction. Turn your signal and slow the car gradually and gently steer the car to the shoulder as far off the road as possible.  Park the car, turn your hazard lights to warn passing traffic.  Call roadside assistance from AAA or your cellphone's 411 service.  If you're gonna change the tire yourself, it would be better if you have another passenger/person to watch the traffic for you as well as using warning markers or flares up the road from your car to give approaching vehicles enough warning.  Call mom and dad anytime just so we can have a panic party together.

#23 Jumpstart A Car

Pumpkins, learn how to jumpstart a vehicle.  Most of the time, you should be able to replace your battery ahead of time, on a regular basis.  Read the vehicle's manual.  But these things happen when you least expect it.  You also need to know this so you can help others with this problem.

Assuming the car you're driving is dead, and someone else is helping jump the car, first of all, you should have a jumper cable in your car's emergency kit.  Secondly, both cars' engines should not be on.  Use the red cable to connect the batteries' positive (+) terminals. Clip the black cable to the other car's battery's negative (-) terminal, but don't touch the other end to the dead battery's negative terminal.  This might create sparks.  Instead, clip it to anything metal that's connected to the engine.  Now you can start the other car and leave it idling for at least five to ten minutes, then turn on (your) dead car.  Be careful when removing the cables.  Make sure they don't touch each other or either car.  Also, remove the black cables first, and then red.
