Even when the whole world's moving toward email and text messaging, people still love receiving hand-written letters or cards. It's personal. It means the sender took extra time and attention and dedicate a few seconds or minutes of their lives for you because you have an importance in their lives. Back in the olden days, this is how people communicate, believe it or not. Sometimes it took weeks before a letter would arrive but the anticipation and excitement of finding a personal letter or card in the mailbox or handed by a mail carrier was fun and priceless.
Buy a set of thank you cards. When someone helped you in simple ways, write and send one. When you are thinking of someone you haven't spoken to in a while, write and send one. When you want to show someone your love or appreciation, write and send one. When Christmas is around the corner, write a bunch and send them with love and prayers.
Remember, you are a channel of blessings. You can't receive more blessings if you don't share what you already have.
