The choc chip cookies you buy in stores are laden with high fructose corn syrup, shortenings, and what not. When making homemade from scratch cookies, some people like to put two to ten blocks of butter when making artery-blocking cookies so they turn out soft and chewy. For the sake of being healthy we tried to make choc chip cookies with just a quarter block of a butter. It tasted okay but the texture was more like eating a clay or brick.
